City of Orangeburg Hosts Community Chat About City Planning & Infrastructure
Learn about Orangeburg's growth, development, and revitalization
ORANGEBURG, S.C.- The City of Orangeburg invites residents to join the Building Orangeburg Quarterly Community Chat on Tuesday, September 29 at Council Chambers, 933 Middleton Street at 6 p.m. Building Orangeburg will give residents an inside look at planning, zoning, development and the future of the city.
City leaders will present an interactive session where residents can ask questions and learn directly from officials. Attendees are encouraged to use the QR code provided to submit questions in advance or during the session.
Spearheaded by Councilwoman Annette Dees Grevious, the community chat series aims to educate and foster open dialogue between City Council, department leaders, and the community. “Orangeburg is experiencing an exciting period of growth, and we want our residents to understand not only what is happening, but how and why these decisions are made,” said Councilwoman Grevious. “Our community chats give the community an opportunity to hear directly from the people doing the work, ask questions, and have a voice in the conversation. Building a stronger Orangeburg requires all of us, and an informed and engaged community is an important part of that progress.”
The free community conversation will provide residents an opportunity to learn how roads, infrastructure, zoning, and development projects are planned and maintained while gaining greater insight into the decisions and investments shaping Orangeburg’s future.
Topics will include:
- City growth and development
- Infrastructure improvements
- Planning and zoning
- Economic development opportunities
- Housing and revitalization efforts
- Downtown and community revitalization
- Opportunities for residents to get involved
Residents, business owners, neighborhood leaders, college students, and other community stakeholders are encouraged to attend and learn more about the projects, policies, and long-term planning efforts impacting Orangeburg.
Questions for the Community Chat may be submitted in advance until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29.
