Crime Analysis Unit
Our dedicated Crime Analysis Unit plays a vital role in enhancing the safety of our community by collecting and scrutinizing statistical crime data. The information gathered is then disseminated to both our Department and the citizens of Orangeburg. This proactive approach helps identify crime patterns and potential suspects, ultimately contributing to a safer environment for all.
The Crime Analysis Unit also spearheads the monthly CrimeStat Meeting, a collaborative effort that brings together all divisions within our department. During these meetings, we delve into current crime data, fostering a deeper understanding and analysis. This valuable process assists us in strategically allocating resources to areas within the City of Orangeburg where they are most needed, reinforcing our commitment to public safety.
