The Inspections office is responsible for all issues dealing with the fire suppression sector of Public Safety.Inspectors are in charge of station repairs, apparatus repair and upkeep, inspecting and pre-planning buildings within the Departments fire response area, and investigating fires.Inspectors are fully trained fire fighters and also are certified Fire Marshalls and Arson Investigators.
Engineers are fully certified firefighters that man one of the Department’s four fire stations. These Engineers are responsible for apparatus upkeep, operating the apparatus on fire scenes, and daily maintenance of the fire stations. Engineers are assigned to one of the four patrol shifts and work 12 hour rotations.
