Athletics

Youth Sports

Fees for participation in all youth sports are the same: $45.00, with an available $25 discount for City of Orangeburg residents providing valid proof of their physical address. A two week registration period takes place prior to each season. View our Calendar for upcoming registration dates. The registration process may be completed at our office location (367 Green Street). A Program Release Form may be obtained online. A birth certificate for each participant should be submitted at the time of registration. Practices and games for all sports generally take place on weekday evenings after 5:30 p.m., however some weekend events may occur occasionally. Youth Baseball/Softball

Baseball is offered for youth ages 3-14, and takes place annually from March-July. Six different baseball fields throughout the City are used to accommodate approximately 30 teams each summer. The leagues offered are: Wee Ball (ages 3-4, co-ed), Dixie A Tee Ball (ages 5-6), Dixie AA Instructional League/Coaches Pitch (Ages 7-8), Dixie AAA Minor League (Ages 9-10), Dixie Youth Major League (Ages 11-12), and Dixie Boys (Ages 13-14).

Girls Softball is offered simultaneously with baseball in March-July, and is available for youth ages 5-12. Girls ages 5-8 play in the Dixie Darlings League, Dixie Angels (ages 9-10), and Dixie Ponytails (ages 11-12). All leagues above age 8 feature the fast pitch format. Youth Basketball

Youth Basketball takes place twice annually from May-August (Summer Season), December-March (winter season) and for boys and girls ages 4-17. Games are played in the City Gymnasium on Broughton Street and other gyms in the area. The leagues offered include: Cub League (Co-ed, ages 4-5), Fun League (Co-ed, ages 6-7), Glitter Girl League (Girls only, ages 7-12), Small Fry (Boys only, ages 8-10), Mite League (Boys only, ages 11-12), Midget League (Boys only, ages 13-14), Midget Girls (Girls only, ages 13-17) and Junior League (Boys only, ages 15-17). Youth Soccer

The City of Orangeburg offers Soccer in the fall (August-November). All games are played at the Hillcrest Soccer Complex, which boasts four soccer/football fields, along with additional tennis courts and baseball diamonds. The four soccer leagues offered are: Wee League (Ages 3-4), Fun League (Ages 5-7), Small Fry (Ages 8-10), and Mite (ages 11-12). All soccer teams are co-ed, and we generally have between 15-18 teams per season. Call 533-6020 for information regarding youth soccer.

Youth Football

Participation in our Youth Football programs continues to grow each autumn. Boys ages 4-5 (Cub League), 6-7 (Pee Wee League) and Girls ages 7-12 (Powder Puff League) play non-contact Flag Football, while 8-10 year olds (Small Fry), 11-12 year olds (Mite League) and 13-14 year olds (Junior League) play tackle football. Approximately 16 football teams participate each year between August and November. Football games are held in Orangeburg at the Hillcrest Football/Soccer Complex. Youth Cheerleading

Cheerleading is offered for girls ages 7-12, and takes place during each fall. Participants are divided into cheering team according to their age, and cheer at the City's youth football games, which primarily take place on weekday evenings. Adult Sports

The City of Orangeburg offers a variety of team athletic/recreation opportunities for adults.

Adult Softball

The City of Orangeburg Parks and Recreation Department offers adult slow pitch softball tournaments for men’s, women’s, and co-ed teams twice a year. Our summer tournaments begin in early June and continue through August and our fall tournaments begin in September and continue through October. Tournaments are offered in two formats: Round Robin (where teams play every team one time) or a Triple elimination tournament (teams are guaranteed 3 games).

Adult Flag Football

We offer Adult Flag Football tournaments twice a year, a fall tournament (November- December) and a Spring Tournament (March-April). Tournaments are offered in two formats: Round Robin (where teams play every team one time) or a Triple elimination tournament (teams are guaranteed 3 games).

Coed Adult Kickball

Our newest sport we have to offer for adults in the area is Adult Kickball! We offer coed tournaments twice a year, a spring tournament (May) and a fall tournament (September). Tournaments are offered in two formats: Single or double elimination tournament.

Adult team Rosters

must be completed and turned in, along with all funds, by their specified dates. Any individual who competes must be listed on the official roster that is turned in.
