Public Safety Officer
The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety is seeking qualified individuals that are interested in a rewarding career as a Public Safety Officer. The Department of Public Safety is a fully implemented public safety agency, offering a wide variety of traditional and unique assignments that include, Patrol/Fire Suppression, Traffic Enforcement, Investigations, Community Policing and more. Individuals seeking to become part of our team will be fully trained to provide both fire suppression and law enforcement duties for the City of Orangeburg. Must be 21 years of age. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Must be in good physical condition. Have no criminal history. Must posses a valid South Carolina drivers license. Must have a good driving record (No DUS or DUI). Have good moral character. Must have a good credit rating. Starting salary $27,500 minimum Certified Officer Salary Negotiable. The City of Orangeburg offers a progressive benefits package to include medical and dental coverage, life insurance, education incentives, participation in a retirement system, paid holidays and annual leave.

Fire Engineer
The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety is seeking qualified individuals that are interested in a rewarding career as a Fire Engineer. The Department of Public Safety is a fully implemented public safety agency, offering a wide variety of traditional and unique assignments that include, Patrol/Fire Suppression, Traffic Enforcement, Investigations, Community Policing and more. Individuals seeking to become a Fire Engineer will be trained to provide general firefighting duties, fire station and apparatus maintenance. The candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess high school a diploma or have a GED. Applicants must be in good physical condition, have no criminal history and posses a valid South Carolina driver’s license. This individual must have a good driving record (No DUS or DUI) and good moral character. Municipal Court Technician II
Operate computer and software to enter various Municipal Court reports, perform receptionist duties; greet and assist the public; answer telephone; receive, receipt, balance and deposit monies for tickets and warrants; compile, prepare, and process various reports and forms; Requirements: Secretarial ability associated with one to two years of technical/vocational school. Three years experience in general office practices, procedures, and equipment; use typewriter and word processing software and equipment. Type 50WPM. Fluent Spanish a plus. Salary range: $18,720.00-$20,800.00.
